1931 Marmon V16, has Cadillac running gear, but I think the price is very steep for the condition. But could you imagine this with a hopped up V16 painted flat black with a red metal flake roof and some red and white Von Dutch style pin stripes? This thing would be a beast.
The roof line is perfect, and that grill is rather menacing looking.
I'm thinking diamond quilted suede and leather like this Bentley Continental SS:
I bet that smells ripe.
Mmmmmm DAT V16, I'm sure somebody could make it perform way better than it did originally. Just picture a series of Webber down drafts with rifled velocity stacks, some headers, and a red engine block.
Look at those springs and lifters!
Starting bid is $44,444.44 with no reserve.

I think hot rodding it is perfectly fine. If it was nicer I might have a problem with it. It looks pretty complete outside but restoration would cost many dollars.

the engine looks like the best part of it. If it ran I would throw a couch in there and just drive it. Also if it was starting at $4444.44 or maybe $6666.66

No 2 ways around it: That's a ton of money. Granted the Series 16 only had 400 units produced. aluminium engine. So much WTH.

It's a bit far gone for a full concours resto, but I don't think there are many Marmon V16's out there.

Thar be no floors in it.

If it gets this car back to being driven I don't care. Any fate is better then continuing to molder here in the sun and sand.

as long as there is a frame that couch will go right over it. Besides I might need to use feet for braking anyhow

Speaking of which, I would love to walk around that place, look at the cars in the background.

The reason he's trying to get that much: that Marmon V16 (that *is* the original Marmon one, not a caddy: 493 vs. 452, different valve cover look, etc.) basically doesn't exist. Only ~400 ever made, and that engine is an OHV aluminum block, unlike the later Caddys.
The look I'd envision for this is with the hood still in place, but evil-looking knuckles cut into it for the tops of the stacks (maybe stacks + air cleaners). It looks too marvelously evil with no headlights, so I'd promote doing something weird like putting them under/into the underside of the front fenders. Evil eyebrows.
Diamond-quilted suede - maybe, but it needs to be squared off to go with the rest of the look.

....soooooo we are looking at the brutus with a roof basically?

Under fender lights on this car would be so sinister.

No, this is actually a car engine, and nothing could ever look as evil as Brutus.

I would want to give it the blastolene treatment.

here you go. .. already done.

The engine is too small. I want to see what Blastolene could do with a Rolls Royce Merlin supercharged V12.

But I like the sedan body better...

This one looks fun too.

Pretty interesting but extremely overpriced. The car and the engine are both missing a lot parts that are probably quite hard to find. Even the hood seems to be from some other car (the Cadillac that gave away the engine?) as it doesn't fit very well.
I guess someone with well restored V16 Cadillac but wrong engine but might buy this as spare parts...
Probably fun project car but too expensive.
